Start Time Commerce in 30 Minutes — From Signup to Your First Paid Session

Quick start — laptop and coffee

TL;DR

A step-by-step guide to launching your first paid session: sign up, connect calendars, set prices, add Stripe, and share your link — all in under 30 minutes.

"Put a price on your 30 minutes" — literally in 30 minutes

You have expertise people would pay for. An architecture review. A coaching session. A portfolio critique. The only thing between you and recurring revenue is a booking link with a price tag. This guide walks you through every step — from creating your Tenbin account to sharing a live, paid booking link — in under 30 minutes. No code, no complex setup.

Step 1: Sign up and connect your primary calendar (5 minutes)

Head to tenbin.app/signup and sign in with your Google account. Tenbin reads Free/Busy data only — event titles and details stay private inside each workspace. Once signed in, your primary Google Calendar is already connected. Tenbin can see when you're free and when you're busy — nothing more.

Step 2: Connect additional calendars (5 minutes)

If you manage multiple Google Workspace accounts — say, one for your consulting practice and one for a part-time role — add them now under Dashboard → Accounts. Tenbin aggregates Free/Busy across up to 10 Google accounts. The result: your true availability, without exposing subject lines from one account to another. Skip this step if you only use one Google account.

Step 3: Create your first booking page (10 minutes)

Go to Dashboard → Booking Pages → New. Fill in: • **Session name**: What you're offering (e.g. "Architecture Review", "FPS Coaching", "Portfolio Critique") • **Duration**: 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes • **Price**: Set your rate. Unsure? Check our pricing guide for benchmarks by profession. • **Destination calendar**: Which Google Calendar should the confirmed booking land on? • **Meet link**: Auto-generate a Google Meet link for the session, or leave blank for in-person. This is where time becomes a product. You're not just sharing a calendar slot — you're listing something people can buy.

Step 4: Connect Stripe (5 minutes)

If your session has a price, connect Stripe via Dashboard → Billing. Tenbin uses Stripe Connect, so payments go directly to your bank — we never hold your money. Stripe supports 42+ countries. Guests pay when they book; you receive the payout on Stripe's standard schedule. This step is optional if you're starting with free sessions only. You can always add Stripe later without changing your booking link.

Step 5: Share your link (5 minutes)

Your booking page is live. Now share it: • **Email signature**: Add your booking link below your name. Every email you send becomes a sales channel. • **Social media bio**: Replace "DM me for consulting" with a direct booking link. • **LinkedIn post**: Announce your availability. "I'm now offering 1:1 architecture reviews — book here." The link works in 5 languages for your guests — Japanese, English, Spanish, German, and French — regardless of which language you set up in.

Tips for landing your first booking

Your link is live. Here's how to get from zero to one: **Start with your network.** Your first paying client is someone who already knows your work. Send a short message: "I've started offering paid [session type]. If you've been meaning to get my input on [topic], here's the link." **Offer a limited free tier.** Create a second booking page with a 15-minute free session. Use it as a funnel: free intro → paid deep dive. **Price with confidence.** Underpricing signals low value. If you'd charge $200/hour as a contractor, your advisory session is worth at least that. The pricing guide has benchmarks for 10+ professions.

What happens when someone books

Your guest sees your merged availability — real open slots across all your calendars. They pick a time, pay via Stripe (if priced), and both of you receive a confirmation email with a Google Meet link. The event lands on your chosen destination calendar. No double-booking risk — Tenbin holds a server-side lock during the checkout flow. That's it. You've turned your calendar into a storefront.

FAQ

Do I need Stripe to start?
No. You can create free booking pages without Stripe and add payment later. Your booking link URL stays the same.
Can I offer both free and paid sessions?
Yes. Create separate booking pages — one free, one paid — and share them from your Hub or link both in your bio.
What if I only have one Google account?
That works perfectly. Step 2 is optional. Tenbin reads your single calendar for availability.
How do international guests pay?
Stripe handles currency conversion automatically. Guests pay in their preferred currency; you receive payouts in yours.
